KOM-IT
KOM-iT stands for “communal information and transaction systems”. It concerns an open, modularly built database supported portal system for the communal internet presence.
By applying KOM-iT, the desired mappings between organisations and their infrastructures can be made easily. All aspects of the portal including the open information supply as well as administration and commercial aspects during the marketing phase (refinancing and portal running costs) are equally supported.
Due to KOM-IT’s open architecture, adjustments depending on regional requirements (e.g. local distinctions in the organisation’s structure as well as differentiations in the organisation’s terms of business) and the corporate identity may be realised as quickly as possible. Besides the navigational concept which offers five different ways to find targeted information, KOM-iT also includes a utility and role model which can be adjusted to the requirements of every individual user (meine.Kommune.de). Additionally, an organisational and editorial concept exists which monitors core functionality from particularly relevant member websites and therefore provides the portal with sustainability. The system has an administration capability and is therefore able to support various internal and external editors and content providers with various responsibilities and authorisation rights.
